Listed below are the members of
the ICN Resources Prayer Team, along with a comment from Ken
Edwards about each.
Rachel
Church, Lenoir, North Carolina
Rachel is my aunt. She is a homemaker and mother of four. She was like a second mom and her boys like brothers to
me growing up.She
currently spends much of her time volunteering at College Avenue
Baptist Church in Lenoir, and enjoying her four grandchildren.
Rachel has always been the model
for me of Christian service. She daily lives out the principle of “God first, others
second, me last.”
Edde
Johnson, Alpharetta, Georgia
Edde was a youth director at
Crabapple First Baptist Church when I first started teaching
youth Sunday School.She
is the mother of five children, who keep her very busy. She also works and volunteers in several capacities at
North Point Community Church in Alpharetta.
I have a whole box of cards,
letters and notes of encouragement and appreciation from Edde
that she has sent over the years that I will always cherish. Her leadership and commitment in working with students
was a great inspiration to me early on in my ministry.
Sue
Pelot,
Buford, Georgia
I first met the Pelots when I had
their son Matt in Sunday School several years ago.I’ve spent many a Friday night with Sue and her husband
Walker in the Buford High School football stadium, sharing
fellowship and cheering for Matt.
I greatly admire Sue and Walker. They have done an outstanding job of raising their two
sons, who today are models for character, integrity and
responsibility.Sue
has consistently provided support and encouragement for my
ministry work.
Louise
Quilter,
Cumming, Georgia
Louise and I have been good
friends since 1988. I met her while serving as a volunteer
firefighter in Alpharetta, Georgia. Louise and her
daughter Alexis live in Cumming, Georgia and attend North Point
Community Church. Among here many talents, Louise is an
excellent cook.
Louise has been the model in my
life of faithfulness.Through
many hardships that would have broken lesser people, Louise has
remained faithful to learning from God and trusting Him to guide
her through the next step. Watching her survive everything
that's been thrown her way has been an inspiration.
Sarah
Sherman, Champaign, Illinois
I first met Sarah in 1998 while
speaking at her school, Judah Christian School, in Champaign,
where she is a senior this year.Since then, we have talked on the phone periodically and
exchanged emails.Sarah
has overcome many, many challenges in her life—all of which
have helped her to grow closer to God.
I continue to admire Sarah’s
will and determination in keeping her head held high. Her life and words have been a tremendous encouragement to
me.
Amy
Walker, Cumming, Georgia
Amy and I first met when I was
her Sunday School teacher. She graduated from North Georgia College and State
University, and she currently teaches third grade at Manning
Oaks Elementary School in Alpharetta.Amy works with the S.W.A.T. student ministry, and also
serves with me as a small group leader coach in the middle
school ministry at North Point Community Church.
Amy has consistently been an
encouragement to me in all I have done over the years. It has been inspirational to watch her as she has grown
in her relationship with the Lord.It is also an honor to serve with her at North Point.
