Ken Edwards
Ken Edwards grew up in Mars Hill, North
Carolina, a small town in the Appalachian
Mountains. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Mars Hill College in 1985 and
his Master's degree from Georgia Tech in 1987. He has worked in the computer
industry since 1987, and is currently a resident of Canton,
Georgia.
Ken became a Christian at age 14 and has dedicated much of the last 15 years to working
with students as a coach, Sunday School teacher, youth leader, Christian speaker, mentor
and tutor. In 1993, Ken rededicated his life to living for Christ and serving the
Lord. God has consistently and faithfully provided opportunities for Ken
to share Biblical teaching and encouragement, as well as the Gospel of Jesus Christ, with students in youth groups, Christian and public schools,
ski and camp retreats, and other venues, as well as to mentor and disciple young
men in his home town.
Currently, Ken owns his own computer software consulting business ICN
Ventures, Inc.. This provides Ken the unique opportunity to have time off
throughout the year to pursue ministry to students.
Ken has been speaking since 1998, and started ICN Resources in February, 2001. Ken has also served as Youth
Sunday School Director at First Baptist Atlanta, was involved in the youth program
at North Point Community Church, and has been writing Sunday
School and small group curriculum since 1989. Ken is currently active at Crabapple First
Baptist Church in Alpharetta, Georgia.
Ken's primary focus in working with teenagers is...
- Building relationships
- Challenging students in their faith
- Motivating students to establish and grow in a relationship with Jesus Christ.
Ken's messages are typically designed to teach students...
- The most important thing in life is a
one-on-one, personal relationship with your Heavenly Father,
- This relationship is only possible
because of Jesus Christ death on the cross,
- The top priority in life is growing and
nurturing that relationship with God.
What's new...
In 2002 and 2003, God has opened up doors of opportunity for one-on-one
discipleship, mentoring and Spiritual instruction with high school students in
the Atlanta area. For fall, 2003, Ken is meeting regularly with 5
students, and is speaking on alternate Wednesday nights to the middle and high
school studnets at John's Creek Baptist Church in Alpharetta, Ga.
